The historic mission marked the Arab world’s entry to the global space race and placed the UAE as the first Arab nation, and the fifth in the world, to reach Mars.

The Hope Probe, also known as the Emirates Mars Mission, is a locally made satellite bound for the Red Planet, where it will gather information about the atmosphere. It is the Arab world's first interplanetary missionThe probe, along with its three scientific instruments, is expected to create the first complete portrait of the Martian atmosphere. The instruments will collect different data points on the atmosphere to also gauge seasonal and daily changes.
